Immediate full-time position for an experienced and versatile front-end developer

Salary

Core Skill Set

• Semantic HTML/CSS website development adhering to current industry standards
• Creating optimized CMS templates from design files
• JavaScript programming -- straight JS + jQuery, jQuery UI
• Writing, customizing and integrating jQuery plugins
• Use of AJAX across all major browsers
• Cross-browser/cross-platform development and debugging across all major browsers and OSs
• Documentation

Requirements

• A sense of humor and desire to be part of a small, close-knit team
• No bullshit, no drama -- just good clean fun!
• Excellent problem solving, analytical and logical diagnostic skills
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in content-oriented Web development
• EXPERT at HTML4/CSS2. Strong desire and movement toward HTML5/CSS3 is a serious plus and almost a requirement
• Experience with content management system (CMS)-based/database-driven web development
• Ability and practical experience taking finalized design files (Photoshop/Illustrator) coupled with IA documents (Site map + func spec) and creating optimized templates for use in a CMS
• Expertise with the jQuery javascript library and thorough understanding of core javascript concepts.
• Willingness to learn a new programing language (we use a custom dense scripting language in our CMS, EsKort, that sits on top of PHP and is similar in concept to Cold Fusion)
• Experience working with Photoshop and Illustrator as they relate to the web
• Working knowledge of embedding inline Flash movies
• General understanding of back-end services and technologies for developing web pages (Apache, DNS, FTP, etc)
• Basic PHP(4/5) programming and understanding of MySQL

• Familiarity with information architecture, usability and accessibility concepts
• Website optimization techniques (e.g., reducing http requests)
• Experimentation with jQuery Mobile beta
• Progressive enhancement techniques
• iOS and/or Mobile HTML delivery
• Basic understanding of digital video compression, presentation options and HTML5 delivery and fallback
• Experience with Flash Media Server

• Ability to communicate design ideas and vision as well as give proper critique of designs
• Ability to produce designs on request in a timely manner for projects ranging from entire websites to HTML email to banners
• Some Flash programming might come in handy (Actionscript 2/3) -- but we are NOT a Flash shop
• Knowledge of FreeBSD (our preferred server OS)
• More advanced understanding of the LAMP stack
